Cold Laser Therapy

Seattle Wellness Group is pleased to offer Cold Laser Therapy. Your first thought might go to cosmetics, such as hair removal, or something more science fiction, but in fact it is a quick way to facilitate healing and relieve pain.

Laser Therapy involves the use of a Class 4 laser, meaning the system falls within the same class as surgical lasers, with laser pointers being in Class 3. The main difference between the two classes is the heat component that is involved.

a person performs laser therapy on a patient's knee with a white wand emitting a red light.

Laser Therapy works by using light to activate a process of chemical reactions within the body to increase the production of ATP through the increased utilization of oxygen; think photosynthesis with plants. Then there is the heat component that is essential to the facilitation of healing within the body by improving the micro-circulation of blood to the soft tissue. This increases the amount of oxygen dumped off at the treatment site, creating a cycle of healing that can treat a wide variety of symptoms.

This includes, but is not limited to:

-Damaged or injured tissue such as sprains or tears

-inflammation

-edema

-most acute injuries

-chronic neck pain

-chronic back pain

-shoulder, knee, elbow, wrist pain

-overall pain management

We find that patients who receive laser therapy treatments often feel some level of relief within the first few sessions, with many feeling immediate relief. Patients will also often regain most, if not all, lost functionality and range of motion- getting them back to their favorite activities faster, whether that's running, biking, climbing, or even playing with kids or grandkids.

So next time you come in, go ahead and ask any one of our staff or providers about Laser Therapy and get one of the fastest, safest, and healthiest treatments for your pain, today!
